Rosso della Porticcia is a DOC Montecucco red wine, of a lively ruby red colour with some garnet shades and scents of jam. It is produced in the farm Casale Pozzuolo, among the perfectly aligned majestic rows of grapes, and grown on the hills in the municipality of Cinigiano, in the Maremma region, and more precisely in Borgo Santa Rita, 300 meters above sea level, on an area of about 4.5 hectares.
The average age of the vines is 11 and 15 years and the fermentation process, both for Rosso della Porticcia DOC and Rosso della Porticcia Riserva Montecucco DOC, takes place in a completely natural way for 27 days, without adding yeast. The wine is then aged in oak barrels.
The result is an excellent 100% Sangiovese red wine with extraordinary organoleptic properties that is a perfect match to robust dishes, red meat, wild boar and game in general. It is also perfect with aged cheeses.
